I thinks it's only right that a blog all about beer/booze, suggests a beer and drink of the month. So with that, nominations are now open for the beer AND booze of April.
To nominate, write one paragraph about why everyone should try the drink you're nominating. It doesn't have to be based on taste, either. You may have tried Absinthe and you think everyone should experience their brain temporarily turning to mush. Or maybe you tried a particular beer at a particular pub with a particularly top-heavy waitress...so your nomination would be driven by wanting every one to see.
You nomination logic is completely up to you.
After all the nominations are received, we'll post all the paragraphs and have a vote. The winner will be the beer/booze of the month.
You're right, it's too much work.
Deal with it.

I nominate Sam Adams Lager as my April Beer of the Month. Despite the fact that I usually despise things from Massachusetts that aren't Boston Baked Beans, this hoppy darling has been on the top of my list for the last couple of weeks. Sam Adams beers, with the exception of the detestable Cherry Wheat, are all really exquisite but only the Summer Ale can compete with the original one.
Get a nice frosty mug for yourself and see. As the commercial notes, they use a pound of hops for every barrel. The result is a complex draft beer that is palatable for both my refined taste buds and also for the Mrs', who is known to order something other than Miller Lite about once a year.
I have no idea how you do it, Sam Adams, you generous patriot, but your Lager gets a big April thumbs up from ol' Pete.
Recommended occasions for a frosty mug of Sam Adams (cannot stress the frosty mug enough for this one):
1. With red meat
2. During a Spring blizzard while indoors
3. Viewing The Masters
4. As a delicious afternoon start to a long Saturday of binge drinking
I nominate Grain Belt Premium, for two reasons:
1. You can now buy it in Nebraska.
2. It kicks ass.
Thank you.
As Spring approaches golf season is upon us. With The Masters only a few weeks away, Michelob Light seems to be the only choice for April beer of the month. This cool refreshing light beer is the perfect golf beer--light enough to drink several on the course, but tasty enough to kick back a few after a round or while watching golf on television. It's unique bottle shape and marketing plan aimed at arrogant 30-something males makes Michelob Light drinkers feel just slightly elevated above the mass of boring Bud Light drinking Average Joe's. Everyone needs this type of artificial ego boost every once in a while, so celebrate the Masters and swing into Spring by choosing Michelob Light as April Beer of the Month!
When I think of the vernal equinox, I think of Smirnoff blueberry.
Thats my April pick for booze of the month. Chances are, you'll find this one on sale. Not because it tastes bad but because its so damn cheap, whats an extra 20 percent off?
Do they have blueberries in Russia? Not even botanically possible. Then again, Smirnoff's probably made in Trenton. I haven't checked. I'd like to think its made in Scandinavia.
Blueberry Smirnoff, potential Booze of the month of April, is made in Scandinavia. Pair it with a mid to early 20's blonde scandy. Especially one with a great balance of fake bake. That sort of glossy, nearly sun-burnt, lotion-smelling fake bake; the BB Smirnoff kind of evaporates when you dump your drink sloppily on scandy's medium-rare shoulder.
Personally, I've been pairing BB Smirnoff with a go-to hard liquor mixer in Diet 7-Up. (I owe it to B & B to provide a post in homage to Diet 7-Up's versatility. Vodkas, Whiskeys, its never-ending.)
I also find BB Smirnoff complements microwave pizza (pizza margarita especially), the new Wu-Tang album, and the new HD Discovery series where they broadcast live from the international space station.
BB Smirnoff. April Booze of the month nominee, and official hard liquor of the International Space Station.
after having several pints this evening while watching the final game of the 2007-2008 ncaa men's basketball season i vote for sam adam's white ale as the official beer of april. it is refreshing in a way that only a seasonal can be, and spectacular in a way that sam adams is accustomed to being. if only the tigers that have showed up for the past couple weeks would have showed up tonight rather and their 'b' effort we would be dancing in the streets.
I refuse to vote on this months beer of the month. This is not because of this site or peoples choices, but because it is still butt ass cold here and my taste buds are still frozen on drinking the beers of winter. I will start voting on the spring months beer of the month once it gets and stays over 40 degrees here.
"F" its cold.
